OMV Deutschland GmbH is an important supplier of petroleum products and petrochemical raw materials in southern Germany. It is a 100% subsidiary of the OMV Group based in Vienna, Austria.
Its activities include the refinery, business customers and petrol station business. It currently has 280 filling stations, of which 223 are in Bavaria. Further stations are in Baden-Württemberg and Hesse.
The Burghausen refinery has an annual processing capacity of around 3.8 million tonnes of crude oil per year. Mineral oil products such as diesel, heating oil and kerosene are produced in the so-called middle distillate range. With kerosene from the Burghausen refinery, the Feldkirchen tank farm is the main supplier of Munich Airport thanks to a direct pipeline. The refinery focuses on petrochemicals. The raw gasoline is not processed into gasoline but into petrochemical feedstocks such as ethylene, propylene, benzene and butadiene.
