    • The commission for informatics operates the Leibniz computer centre (LRZ) in Munich with more than 150 employees. It is a scientific computer centre for many scientific institutions in the region of Munich and it provides an efficient communication infrastructure in cooperation with the Munich science network (MWN). Competence centre for technical and scientific top performance calculations and data communication networks as well as control centre for archiving large data volumes. The LRZ operates as a national supercomputing centre and enables access from and to numerous national institutions.
