The Institute for Applied Research was established with the aim to further develop and strengthen research activities, as well as to promote knowledge and technology transfer.
The IAF coordinates applied research and development (R&D) and knowledge transfer. The institute focuses on the university's application-orientated research expertise and works together with the Research, Knowledge and Technology Transfer and the Graduate Mentoring Unit as a contact point for:
•Small to middle-sized regional companies and local non-profit making organizations who require expert subject knowledge
•Professors and scientists from THD and its eight technology campuses
