Radioactive environments may affect the reliability of EEE parts and systems. Radiation effects are especially important in space technology but also in terrestrial applications.

Radiation effects on EEE parts are not only dependent on the different types of radiation (gamma, energetic electrons and ions) but also on the EEE technologies (CMOS, Bipolar, etc). Those effects can be qualified and quantified by measuring the degradation of the electrical parameters or malfunction of the EEE component.

Two radiation effects are of main importance for Hi-Rel qualification:

      - Total Ionizing Dose (TID)

      - Single Event Effects (SEE)

Spectrum ARC offers highly valued engineering service for space and high tech industry in the following working areas:

      - Spacecraft Operations

      - Systems Engineering

      - Software Development

      - Project Planning

      - Project Management

    • Core competencies:
    • The Spectrum ARC team has cultivated a substantial background (over more than 30 years) working in aeronautics and space programs for the German Aerospace Agency (DLR), the Astrium Department of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) amongst others.

Spectrum ARC GmbH was founded with the goal of providing innovative state-of-the-art technological solutions in the fields of high reliable (Hi-Rel) components and nano/micro satellite development. However, in the last years, new business lines have been opened in nanotechnology and on applied materials science and electronics for aerospace, also applicable to some industrial domains.

Since its formation the company has always had a strong involvement in R&D activities and innovative technologies.
